12South is one of my favorite neighborhoods in all of Nashville. There’s so much to do and to eat! The neighborhood is home to a lot of young families, and it’s not unusual to see parents pushing strollers or people walking dogs or college students meeting friends.

Draper James

This bench is one of my favorite places in Nashville.

Back in 2015, Reese Witherspoon founded Draper James, a lifestyle brand that celebrates the charm and grace of the South. The store is wonderful because they have something for everyone, including the family member you dragged in with you. You’re greeted at the door and offered a cup of sweet tea. I’ve never seen husbands so happy in a store. When I say that Draper James has something for everyone, I really mean it. They have a wonderful sale section, and they have sizes 0 to 24 unlike many boutique type stores. No matter what size you are or what body shape you have, their best-selling “Love Circle” dress will look amazing on you, and a lot of them have giant pockets. I went to a concert in one and didn’t need a purse, I had cash, lipstick, liner, my cellphone, and my tickets in my pockets, and it was a lovely experience.

This picture is from last year 🙂

Besides having the cutest clothes, the store is “totes adorbs” and is the perfect place to take pictures. Whether you take a picture on the bench or the striped wall it’s a perfect way to end the visit to my favorite store. Plus right across the alley way you can find one of the “I Believe in Nashville” murals.

bartaco

After shopping at Draper James, bartaco is a great place to have lunch or dinner. My favorite thing on their menu is the rice bowl with mojo pork carnitas with pineapple and lime. Plus, they have a long list of drinks and cocktails, in case you’re interested.

Amelia’s Flower Truck

Amelia’s Flower Truck-Who hasn’t seen one of their adorable old VW trucks on instagram? The blue trucks are full of fresh flowers that you can mix and match to build your own arrangement, or buy a bouquet from them. If you visit their website here, you can find the truck schedule.

Frothy Monkey

I have never been in there, but my mom LOVES their coffee. Apparently, Taylor Swift likes to stop in here when she’s in Nashville.

Nashville Pumpkin Company

Nashville Pumpkin Company

This is my second year to visit the Nashville Pumpkin Company’s patch on 12South, and I was happy to visit again because it’s the perfect place to take a few pictures, pick up some pumpkins to decorate, a pumpkin to carve for Halloween, or a pumpkin to make pie. I just really love pumpkins.

Five Daughters Bakery

I <3 Donuts

You doughnut want to miss this adorable bakery right off of 12South. Five Daughters Bakery makes the most amazing donuts ever! This little house turned bakery right off of 12 South, makes 100 layers of buttery happiness rolled in sugar. Drooling yet? Knowing that the team at FDB uses high-quality ingredients, some locally sourced, and all non-gmo products makes me happy. Every month they release specialty flavors, my favorite is the Vanilla Creme, and you can get that all the time. The entire place has a happy vibe. And you’ll be happy biting into one of their glorious doughnuts. They even make paleo and yeast raised doughnuts, and have other pastries and cookies. They even have a donut cam, how fun is that?

Taqueria Del Sol

Another great place to grab a bite is Taqueria Del Sol. It’s more casual than bartaco, and my favorite thing to eat there is the brisket taco. Also if you’re with a friend or group the salsa trio is a great thing to split.

Jeni’s

While we were in here, a couple was shooting their pregnancy announcement.

I promise you, most days I don’t eat ice cream for dinner followed by a doughnut for dessert. But somedays that’s just how the cookie crumbles. My favorite flavors from Jeni’s are the Honey Vanilla Bean and Frosé Sorbet, but sometimes I’ll get some of the seasonal flavors.
